The 2026 edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) will bring together 24 violinists from 17 countries for one of the world’s major international classical music competitions. The competition will take place from May 27 to June 4, 2026, in Montréal, Québec. (Montréal Music Competition)

The official orchestra of the competition is the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM), conducted this year by Sascha Goetzel. (Montréal Music Competition)

The competitors will perform a wide variety of repertoire including:

• Baroque works by composers such as J.S. Bach and Telemann
• Virtuosic violin works by Paganini, Sarasate, Wieniawski, Saint-Saëns and others
• Complete violin sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Franck, Prokofiev, Ravel and more
• Mozart violin concertos in the Final Round
• Major violin concertos with orchestra in the Grand Final
• Contemporary Canadian works specially included for the semifinal round (Montréal Music Competition)
